1. Seedlings
Choose home potted blueberry planting, it is recommended to choose 2-year-old or 3-year-old blueberry seedlings, such seedlings are easier to plant and survive.
2. Potted environment
Potted blueberries need as much sun as possible and proper moisture. The planting environment must be ventilated. The choice of soil should be loose and fertile, well-drained, preferably acidic, and must be slightly acidic. Blueberries are not active in alkaline soil and cannot absorb nutrients properly. It is recommended to use 15 cm pots for seedlings and 25 cm pots for adult plants.
3. Planting
Before planting, place the seedlings in a cool and ventilated place for about 2 hours, and then plant them in the soil. When planting, first lay a layer of stones on the bottom of the pot, add the prepared soil, add base fertilizer on top of the soil, then plant the seedlings in the soil, then sprinkle a layer of soil and lightly compact the soil, and water it once.
4. Water and fertilizer management
The root system of blueberries is shallow and sensitive to lack of water, so the pots should be kept moist without stagnant water. When fertilizing blueberries, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are the main fertilizers.
5. Light temperature
The growth of blueberries requires a lot of light, and it should maintain more than 8 hours of light time every day. The temperature in the growing season is preferably between 16-25 degrees, and the temperature in spring, autumn and summer can be satisfied. The temperature in winter is low, and it is necessary to keep the ambient temperature above 6 degrees to avoid the problem of freezing damage.
6. Scientific pruning
Rapid growth and frequent pruning are also principles. In order to ensure the yield of blueberries, if there are too many branches and too small fruits, it should be pruned properly, especially after the flowers wither. If the flowers are prosperous, the flower buds should be properly thinned, and the dead or diseased branches should be cut off in time.
