Banana Bagging Precautions

Bananas are one of our common fruits. Many farmers will bag bananas in the process of planting bananas, which can control pests and diseases, improve fruit appearance, reduce pesticide residues, and improve banana yield and quality.

1.Bagging time
Bananas are usually turned up when the buds burst, and bagging works better when the peel turns green. If the bagging is too early, it is difficult to spray and control the young fruit due to many diseases and insect pests. It also affects the upward bending of the fruit, which is not conducive to the formation of a beautiful comb shape and has a poor appearance. If bagging is too late, the purpose of sun protection, rain protection, insect protection, disease prevention, cold protection and fruit protection cannot be achieved.

2. The method of bagging
(1). The bagging time of banana fruit is 7-10 days after the banana bud breaks. When the banana fruit is bent upwards and the banana peel turns green, spray one last time. After the liquid is dried, the ear can be covered by double-layer bagging with pearl cotton film.
(2). The outer layer is a blue film bag with a length of 140-160 cm and a width of 90 cm, and the inner layer is a pearl cotton bag with a length of 120-140 cm and a width of 90 cm.
(3) Before bagging, put the pearl cotton bag into the blue film bag, then open the bag mouth, cover the whole ear of fruit with banana ears from bottom to top, and then tie the bag mouth with a rope at the fruit axis to avoid Rainwater flows into the bagging. When bagging, the action should be light to avoid friction between the bag and the fruit and damage the fruit.
(4) When bagging from June to August, 4 symmetrical 8 small holes should be opened in the middle and upper part of the bag, and then bagging, which is more conducive to the ventilation during bagging. After September, there is no need to punch holes for bagging. Before the cold current occurs, the outer film of the lower part of the bag is firstly bundled, and then a small bamboo tube is placed in the middle of the bundling opening to eliminate the accumulation of water.
